MD NHM presents NQAS certificate to UPHC Shastri Nagar
JAMMU: The Mission Director NHM J&K Ayushi Sudan on Friday presented National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate to Dr Ila Gupta inc-harge Medical Officer of UPHC Shastri Nagar Jammu.
The function in this regard was held at State Health Society Nagrota, Jammu.
Notably, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has accorded National Certification under NQAS Programme to UPHC Shastri Nagar in recognition of high standards of quality in the hospital.
Pertinently, the quality of services being extended in the hospital has been assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled assessors from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in July 2022.
The National certification will be valid for a period of three years subject to annual verification of the scores by the State Quality Assurance Committee (SQAC).
UPHC Shastri Nagar shall receive an additional annual grant of Rs. three lakh as part of NQAS certification for next three years under National Health Mission (NHM) for further strengthening.
After that a fresh inspection of the health care institute will be conducted by the concerned.
Ayushi Sudan congratulated the staff of UPHC Shastri Nagar for this achievement and urged upon all Medical Colleges, District Hospitals and CHCs of J&K to work hard for implementation of NQAS for improved patient care.
Elaborating on the achievement, Mission Director, NHM said that the certification has been accorded to UPHC Shastri Nagar, Jammu, in recognition of “high standards of quality and performance maintained by the hospital”.
He informed that all efforts are being made to strengthen the health care delivery system to the utmost satisfaction of the general public under NHM.
