Germany support is laudable

Dear sir, Germany has unveiled a offer to give 1 billion Euro (Rs 8440 crore) to India for energy transition systems across the country under a bilateral cooperation for green and sustainable development is definitely a welcome move.

Actually in May this year German Chancellor Olaf Scholz blazoned a support of 10 billion Euro to India by 2030. The present backing of 1 billion Euro for the systems in India is part of that pledge.

The German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann promised that the two sides will agree on the backing for further than 20 development systems. The backing, including 10% subventions and 90% in the form of lines of credit with cheap interest rates of 2.75% per annum by a German bank, which will support India’s sweats in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable civic development in smart metropolises and sustainable use of natural coffers.

Accommodations between the Indian and German governments on environment oriented development policy is a matter of appreciation. All the new ventures will help cut green house gas emissions and to help acclimatize to climate change in the country is laudable.
