LCMA convenes 124th BPA meeting, 26 cases approved on merit

SRINAGAR: The J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) on Thursday convened its 124th meeting of the Building Permission Authority (BPA).

The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman LCMA Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat at Dockyard, Nishat, NFR-Srinagar.

The agenda for the meeting was discussed threadbare and 33 cases were decided out of which 26 were approved, 03 cases were deferred while 04 cases were rejected by the BPA on merits.

Among others, Chief Town Planner of Kashmir, Joint Commissioner (P) SMC, Secretary LCMA, Collector LCMA, Executive Engineer Lake Division 2nd LCMA, Executive Engineer Electric Inspection Division, Enforcement Officers LCMA, and representatives of Executive Engineer UEED Division 1st, PHE, Tehsildar Khanyar and Tehsildar Nazool as members of the Building Permission Authority were present in the meeting.

Moreover, the Tripper and Load carrier owners have been directed not to carry any type of illegal construction material in the prohibited area of Dal and Nigeen Lake without proper permission from the concerned authority.

Vice Chairman J&K LCMA who is also the Chairman of BOCA has urged the people residing in the local jurisdiction of LDA to apply for proper building permission through its building permission authority, before starting any sort of Construction.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Wing of LCMA today took a demolition drive in the areas of Bakhri Mohalla Dal, Saida Kadal and Saderbal/ Kanitar where one 2nd Storey, one Shop and Tin Walling were demolished.

Further, legal action against the violators was also initiated. People in these areas have been warned not to resort to any illegal constructions and encroachments and were asked to get proper building permission from the competent authority before taking any construction in hand.
