Gandhi Memorial College holds Fire Safety Awareness programme

SRINAGAR: The NSS wing of the Gandhi Memorial College (GMC) Srinagar organised a Fire Safety Awareness programme on Friday.

The event was held in collaboration with the Fire Service Station, BrariNambal Baba Demb, Srinagar and was attended by a large number of students and staff members.

The programme was organised with an objective to create awareness about fire safety, the usage of fire extinguishing equipment and the safety measures which can be taken during fire emergencies.

Prof Mohammad ZubairUd Din introduced the major purpose of the awareness programme.

The keynote lecture was given by Sub-officer, NoorAlam.

In his speech, he talked in detail about the various fire safety measures that ought to be taken in case of fire emergencies.

The Principal of the College, Prof (Dr) Asmat thanked the Fire and emergency department for the initiative and explored the need for more such awareness programmes.

This was followed by demonstration drills by the members of the concerned fire service station.
