Two drug peddlers arrested in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said on Friday.

He said a police party of Police Station Pulwama intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number DL3CBQ-4882 with two persons on board at a checkpoint established at Babagund Pulwama.

“During checking, officers were able to recover 10 Diazepam Injectables and cash worth Rs 9200 from their possession,” he said.

The spokesman said that both the accused persons identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Malik son of Mohammad Abdullah Malik and Haris Nazir son of Nazir Ahmad Malik, both residents of Dalipora Pulwama were arrested on the spot.

“They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” he said.

He said a case vide FIR No. 325/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been set into motion.
