Day-long workshop on ‘Zimadari Project’ held at GDC Kupwara

KUPWARA: The district administration Kupwara on Friday conducted a day long workshop on the Zimadari project at Government Degree College (GDC) Boys Kupwara.

The event was organised in collaboration with the School Education Department and was attended by a large number of teachers from various schools across the district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray was chief guest on the occasion. CEO Kupwara Abdul Hameed Fani, Deputy CEO were also present during the workshop.

Speaking at the occasion, the DC congratulated the organizers for conducting the workshop on the eve of National Education Day. He said that the ‘Zimadari’ project is an initiative by the District Administration Kupwara under Aspirational District Programme (ADP) aimed at to revolutionize the education sector in the district.

Regarding National Education Day, the DC said that the main theme of this year’s National Education Day is ‘Changing Course, Transforming Education’ adding that it is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to transform the education system in the district.

He said under the ‘Zimadari’ project, Teachers from the Education Department have done a good job which has been reflected in the widespread transformation of the schools in the district.

The DC said that the schools were working on 85 parameters which has resulted in different changes on ground adding that the best practices registered shall be evaluated and work for improvement of these practices will be made in the 2nd phase.

On the occasion, various speakers including CEO Kupwara spoke and provided threadbare awareness to the participants regarding the ‘Zimadari’ project.

The participants were given information about the indicators, thematic areas and weightage of the project including Academics, Basic Infrastructure, Human Resource Development, Co-curricular/Extra-curricular activities and Social & Emotional Learning.

Later, the DC visited Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara and interacted with the students. He directed the School administration to hold a Personality development session with the students which will help them in sharpening their personalities.
