DDC Kupwara chairs Block Diwas at Drugmulla

KUPWARA: District Administration Kupwara on Wednesday conducted Block Diwas programmes at Moqam-i-Shahwali, Lalpora and Jabdi areas to hear the issues of the people at their doorsteps.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray chaired a Mega Block Diwas event at Moqam-i-Shahwali Drugmulla.

Addressing the function, the DDC said that the aim of holding block diwas is to hear the developmental issues of the people at their doorsteps for redressal.

Regarding power scenario, the DDC said that concerted efforts are being taken by the District Administration and PDD authorities to augment the power supply in the district adding that additional supply of 30 MW has been added to the existing capacity recently in the district.

Regarding employment generation, the DDC appealed to the unemployed youth to come forward and enroll themselves under the ambitious Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) adding that the sponsoring departments and banks are now available in every area of the district to facilitate the unemployed youth in establishing self-employment generation units.

Referring to online services, the DDC said that under Aap Ki Zameen Aap Ki Nigrani (AZAN), people can easily access information about their land at their fingertips, appealing to people to take advantage of the AZAN portal.

Earlier, various day to day developmental issues were raised by the PRIs and people which were heard by the DDC.

The DDC issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of the issues raised.

On his arrival, the DDC paid obeisance at Ziyarat Zeti-Shah Wali Drugmulla and interacted with the members of Waqf and got feedback about the shrine. He also planted a sapling in the compound of the shrine.

Later, the DDC visited the house of Mohammad Ramzan Magray son of Ghulam Mohiddin Magray at Kandi on some media reports regarding pouring of rain water in his house.

The DDC handed over a cheque of Rs.20000 to the house owner for repair of the house.

Block Diwas was also held at Jabdi Bijaldhar in Karnah SubDivision which was chaired by SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather.

During these block diwas events, officers from administration heard the issues of PRIs and general public.
