Day-long seminar on ‘Corruption Free India’ held at GDC Khansahib

BUDGAM: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ the District Police Budgam on Saturday organised a day-long seminar on ‘Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation’.

The event was held in collaboration with the Debates and Seminar Committee and NSS unit of GDC Khansahib.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam Tahir Salim Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

In his address, he spoke on different dimensions of corruption and urged students to act as agents of change and report incidents of corruption at appropriate levels.

Speaking at the event, Principal of the college, Dr Nargis Bano appreciated the role of police in spreading awareness and dealing with corruption in the best possible manner.

Voonish Sanghotra, Senior Prosecutor, district police Budgam highlighted legal aspects of corruption and anti-corruption legislations thereof.

Dr. Sajad Ahmad Padder, Assistant Professor of Political Science and NSS Programme Officer talked about the impact of corruption with special focus on political corruption and democracy.

DSP Khansahib, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din shared his experiences in dealing with corruption in different areas of Kashmir.

Two college students, Tabiyan Gul and Sabreena Mohi-ud-Din also participated in the discussion.

The event concluded with a question-answer session. SHO Khansahib Samir Ahmad, Convener Debates and Seminar Committee Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, faculty members, students and media persons graced the occasion.
