KVK Anantnag holds awareness programme on OSNF
ANANTNAG: KVK Anantnag in collaboration with Agriculture Department Anantnag on Saturday organised an Awareness programme on ‘Out Scaling of Natural Farming’ (OSNF) at Larnu, Kokernag.
In the technical session, Head KVK Anantnag Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan explained the benefits of Natural Farming and its future prospects.
He shared his expertise and imparted knowledge to the farmers regarding how to use farm manure and other substances for natural farming.
Dr Ishtiyaq also spoke about various initiatives taken by the KVK Anantnag for cultivation of better and high yielding varieties through natural farming.
He stressed on avoiding use of unnecessary pesticides and fertilizers, besides consulting the experts before using any kind of pesticides or fertilizers.
HDO Kokernag, Dr Peerzada Farhat discussed the benefits of natural farming and the efforts being made by Horticulture department for creating mass awareness regarding natural farming. He also spoke about various government schemes regarding Natural Farming for the development of the horticulture in Larnu area.
Agriculture Extension Officer Larnu, Tariq Ahmad on the occasion spoke about the steps being taken by the Agriculture Department regarding natural farming for different crops.
