Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam, contraband substance recovered: Police
Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
He said a Police party of Police Post Frisal intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing registration number JK08E-1795 at a checkpoint established at Tengbal crossing.
“The Vehicle was driven by Saleem Mohammad Fakeer son of Liyaqat Ali Faqeer resident of Basoli,” he said.
The spokesman said the officers recovered 10 kgs of Poppy Straw from the possession of the driver.
“The driver of the vehicle was arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” he said.
He said a case vide FIR No. 84/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Yaripora and further investigation has been taken up.
