Firewood distribution to registered agencies to commence from November 5
SRINAGAR: The Forest Department on Saturday informed that the distribution of Firewood will commence from November 5 of 2022.
The department has informed all the registered agencies and mosques of Srinagar City to approach the Range Officer, Timber Transport Range, P C Depot, Qamerwari from November 1 of 2022 with their indent through proper channel for issuance of yearly firewood quota.
As per the targets, about 40000 Qtl of firewood have been dumped at P C Depot for this purpose.
“Urban Forestry Division, Srinagar is committed to accelerate the process of distribution so that the supply of firewood to registered agencies and mosques of Srinagar is completed well in time particularly to tide over harsh winter (Chillai Kalaan),” the statement reads.
