Accused person arrested, stolen property recovered

Srinagar: Police have solved a burglary case in Bandipora after it arrested an accused person and recovered the stolen property from his possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

He said the Police Station Bandipora received a complaint from Ghulam Qadir Dar resident of Lankreshipora Bandipora that some thieves had barged inside his residential house and had stolen golden ornaments and some cash.

“A case vide FIR No. 169/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bandipora and investigation into the matter was initiated,” he said.

Accordingly, a special police team of police station Bandipora was constituted to investigate the matter.

“During the course of investigation, many suspects were called for questioning and after strenuous efforts the investigating team arrested one accused person identified as Amir Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Nabi Rather resident of Anchar Soura Srinagar,” he said.

He said that during questioning, officers learnt about his involvement in the commission of crime and on his disclosure the stolen items including Golden Jewellery and cash of Rs 21350 were recovered from his residential house in Anchar Soura Srinagar.

“Further investigation of the case is going on,” he said.
