Awareness Rally on BBBP held at Budgam
BUDGAM: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Budgam on Saturday organised a rally to spread awareness among the people about the need and significance of educating the girl child.
The rally also highlighted adverse impact on society due to the decline in sex ratio.
Scores of girl students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Budgam of the district participated in the rally and raised slogans in favour of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
The rally started from GHSS New and culminated at DC office Complex Budgam
The DHEW-MS headed by District Mission Coordinator Afroza Bhat highlighted the need for creating greater awareness among the masses about the BBBP scheme and about the importance of girl child in society.
She further said that the aim of organizing the awareness rally was to sensitize the community about saving, educating and ensuring the dignity of the girl child.
