IUST holds day long orientation program to welcome fresher’s
Srinagar: The Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Thursday hosted a day long orientation program to welcome the fresher’s batch.
The event was organized to get the students acquainted with basic university infrastructure, rules, regulations and the facilities available within the campus.
The event was sponsored by Arco Cements and Superfresh Agri.
Director DIQA Prof. Fozia Qazi kick-started the orientation programme by welcoming the students. She also spoke about the achievements of the University.
Prof.Qazi advised the students to focus on gaining knowledge but at the same time encouraged them to have a curious mind.
Dean Academic Affairs IUST Prof. Manzoor Malik in his address said that students are the most important aspect of any educational institute and it is the duty of the institute to make their journey comfortable.
Dean Outreach IUST Prof. Lily Want spoke to students about various facilities and state of the Art laboratories available in the campus.
The event saw the presence of a number of University officials, faculty members and staff who welcomed the new batch of students and oriented them on a number of aspects.
In charge controller examination IUST Prof. Mohamad Amin praised composite culture of the university and highlighted the role of university as a place for higher learning, where leaders and great personalities of tomorrow are shaped.
In-charge Librarian IUST Prof. Afroz Bisati introduced students to the University’s Rumi Library and discussed its setup.
Dean of Students Dr. Anisa Jan spoke about the role of her office and said the office will always be at the disposal of students to address their grievances.
Assistant Programmer Department of IT&SS Aijaz Ahmad talked about the creation and use of student IDs to avail various benefits at university.
