Police arrests thief in Sopore
Srinagar: Police have arrested a thief in Sopore and recovered stolen property from his possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
The spokesman said a Police party of Police Station Vilgam on October 10 intercepted a Load Carrier Auto bearing registration number JK01AB-5369 at a checkpoint established at Sheikhpora crossing
“But, on seeing the naka party he tried to evade from the spot but was held tactfully,” the spokesman said.
He said the driver of the vehicle was identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rashid resident of Sheer Colony-B Sopore.
“During checking of the vehicle, three quintals of stolen electric wire has been recovered. He has been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” the police spokesman said.
He said a case vide FIR No. 113/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Vilgam and investigation has been initiated as well.
