DSW Kulgam holds awareness programme to highlight schemes
KULGAM: The Department of Social Welfare (DSW) Kulgam on Tuesday organised a day long awareness programme at ITI KB pora, D H Pora.
The event was held regarding various schemes run by the Social welfare department including the recently restructured Marriage Assistance Scheme, Pension Schemes, Prosthetic aids, motorized tricycles and Scholarship schemes.
The officers and resource persons from the Department of Social Welfare apprised people in detail about the criteria, eligibility and procedure for availing benefits under various schemes of the department.
A dedicated question answer session to address the queries of various stakeholders was also held on the instructions of DSWO kulgam.
The program was part of an initiative of the department to hold awareness programmes in far flung areas of the district to apprise deserving people of these areas about the digitisation and recent updates in different schemes of the department.
A similar program was held at Kund in the previous week which received an overwhelming response from the beneficiaries and local population of the area.
