Police arrests an offender, seizes 1 vehicle over illegal extraction of minerals
Srinagar: Police have arrested a person and seized a vehicle in Budgam over illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
He said a police party of PS Chadoora intercepted one dumper loaded with illegally extracted soil at Magraypora Chadoora, which he had extracted from Government land at Magraypora.
“The driver was arrested and the Dumper was also seized on spot,” the spokesman said, adding that the arrested driver was identified as Suhail Abbas Sofi son of Ashiq Hussain Sofi resident of Rakh Shalina Tengen.
“A case vide FIR number 162/2022 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated as well,” he said.
