Youth Festival celebrated at High Ground Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A day long Youth Festival was organised at High Ground, officials said Monday.
The event was organised 1 RR in collaboration with District Administration Anantnag with participation by Departments of School Education and Youth Services and Sports.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom as Chief Guest while Commanding Officer 1 RR, District Social Welfare Officer and other officers of Civil Administration and Indian Army also graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that such programmes are being organized to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their talent and to keep them away from drug addiction, unlawful activities and to polish their talent.
He said the intent is to make students aware regarding the various career opportunities available so that students can leverage their talent to bring a good name to the district.
He congratulated CO 1 RR and others involved in organizing the festival for putting up a good show.
Besides, teachers and students from different institutions, specially abled persons, local artists, youth icons and the general public participated in the festival.
Various events including cultural programmes, sufi songs, games and food stalls, online singing and dance competition, career counseling, talks by young achievers, Dog skill show, know your Army, martial arts display, empowerment of women and specially abled persons were presented to motivate the youth to pursue their passion in sports, athletics, culture, music, and business.
Aadil Teeli (Cyclist) interacted with participants and shared his story of struggle, perseverance and subsequent success.
On the occasion, stalls of various national and multinational companies, University of Dehradun Web help, etc were erected to impart career counseling and guidance to youth.
Hearing aids and wheelchairs were also distributed among the specially abled persons by the DC.
Dr Basharat said that various specially abled persons are being facilitated by way of providing wheelchairs, prosthetic aids to empower them to compete and demonstrate their talents so that they can contribute to the society.
The youth appreciated Administration, Army and concerned departments for the initiative and called for more such events to be held.
