Outreach programme for NCC activities held at Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A day long interaction cum outreach programme was held at Dak Bungalow Khanabal under the chairmanship of Major General Tejender Kumar MP, Additional Director General of National Cadet Corps, Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
In his address Major General said that there has been an overwhelming response towards NCC activities from youth of South Kashmir.
He said that plans are being carved out to organize NCC camps in South Kashmir so that more youth can take part in these camps.
He said accordingly Principals of various degree colleges and educational institutions as well as other stakeholders were assembled to discuss the future course for organizing such camps and solicit the feedback from all stakeholders.
He said NCC strives for bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united and disciplined citizens. He also said that NCC is a stepping stone for youth who aspire to serve the country through uniformed services.
Major General also threw light on various certifications through NCC that are beneficial for the youth in finding employment.
The caretakers and ANOs, physical education teachers and other concerned persons put-forth their suggestions for active participation of the students as NCC cadets which includes training, building facilities for training and trainees as well as conducting regular camps across the UT.
The meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, C.O. Girls Battalion NCC, C.O. Boys Battalion NCC, Unit commanders, Principles of GDCs, CEOs of South Kashmir and members of media fraternity.
