Police seizes illicit timber in Handwara
Srinagar: Police have seized illicit timber in the Bakihakar area of Handwara, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
The spokesman said that a police party of Police Station Handwara raided the spot after receiving the information about illicit timber lying in the premises of Showkat Ahmad Sheikh son of Gull Sheikh resident of Bakihakar.
“The police party seized illicit timber,” the spokesman said.
The police spokesman said a case vide FIR No. 253/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Handwara and further investigation have been set into motion as well.
“The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold,” the spokesman said.
