Police recovers abducted girl, accused arrested

Baramulla: Police in Baramulla have recovered an abducted girl within six hours after she was abducted by some unknown person.
The police spokesman said the accused was arrested within six hours after the commission of crime.
The spokesman said that Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint wherein it was stated that his daughter was abducted by Mohammad Afzal Chopan (Bilal) son of Ghulam Hassan Chopan resident of Palhallan Pattan.
“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated,” the spokesman said.
He said a team headed by In-charge Police Post Palhallan was constituted by SDPO Pattan Mohammad Nawaz Khanday.
“During the course of investigation, Police recovered the abducted girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime from Hajin area of District Bandipora,” the police spokesman said.
The police spokesman said the girl was handed over to her legal heirs after completing all the medico legal formalities.
“Further investigation of the case is going on,” he said.
