Police solves cattle theft case within 24 hours

SRINAGAR: Police in Bandipora have solved a cattle theft case and arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime, a police spokesman said on Friday.
He said the stolen cattle have been from the possession of the accused.
The spokesman said that Police Station Bandipora received a complaint from a shepherd namely Abdul Khaliq son of Mohmmad Abdullah resident of Rajouri Kalakote stating that some unknown thieves have stolen his seven Sheep near Rangerkhan (Ajar Chowk) Bandipora during the intervening night of September 14 and 15.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 159/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Bandipora and investigation was taken up,” the spokesman said.
In wake of this, a police party headed by SHO PS Bandipora under the supervision of DySP headquarter Bandipora Shafat Mohmad arrested one person within 24 hours after strenuous efforts besides human and technical inputs.
The police have identified the arrested person as Zubair Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohmad Ganie resident of Nowpora Bandipora.
“During questioning, he confessed his involvement in the commission of crime and on his disclosure 7 seven sheep were also recovered from his possession,” he said.
During the further course of investigation, the arrested accused person also confessed the involvement of his father Ghulam Ahmad Ganie son of Ab Ahad Ganie resident of Nowpora and efforts are on to arrest him, he said.
“Further investigation of the case is going on” the police spokesman said.
The police spokesman said that community members have applauded the efforts made by the Police to solve the burglary case.
“Our consistent actions shall assure community members that Police has resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities,” he said.
