DGP sanctions Rs. 1.77 crore for NoKs of martyred Police personnel

Srinagar: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.77 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of martyred and deceased Police personnel.
The amount was sanctioned to provide financial succor to the families of the Police personnel who have attained martyrdom or have passed away while in service.
The DGP sanctioned grant of ex-gratia relief of Rs 38 lakh in favour of dependents of martyr SI(M)Farooq Ahmad Mir and special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh was sanctioned in favour of dependents of Martyr Ct Sarfraz Ahmad who attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack.
The DGP also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 50000 in favour of NoKs of Martyr DySP Parveen Kumar in connection with the marriage ceremony of his daughter.
Similarly, the Special Welfare Relief (SWR) of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents of deceased SI Naresh Kumar, ASI Ajeet Singh, HC(M) Manzoor Ahmad & HC Mohammad Razaq and Ct Aman Bandral.
The deceased personnel have passed away due to illness or natural death while in service.
Besides, the DGP also sanctioned SWR of Rs 6 lakhs in favour of dependents of deceased SPO Bashir Ahmad Parray who passed away during the course of his engagement with the department.
“Also welfare relief of Rs 50000 was sanctioned in favour of retired SI Ali Mohammad to defray the expenses incurred on his treatment for life consuming ailment,” the police handout reads.
Also, an amount of Rs 1 lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of these martyred and deceased Police personnel and Rs 50000 for SPO for performing their last rites through concerned units.
“The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of contributory Police welfare funds,” the handout reads.
