Pole reviews infrastructural development at Sheikh ul Alam (RA) Shrine, Chrar-e-Sharief

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang Kundbarao Pole on Friday took a review of the infrastructural development at the Sheikh ul Alam (RA) shrine to enhance its aesthetic view and increase facilities for devotees.
The review was taken ahead of celebration of Urs Mubarak of Shiekh ul Alam, Shiekh Noor ud Din Noorani (RA) at Chrar-e-Sharief, Budgam.
The review meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Budgam SF Hamid, ADC Budgam Dr Nasir Lone, Director Tourism GN Itoo, Chief Engineer R&B, Chief Town Planner, CEO Yusmarg Development Authority, SDM Chadoora, Deputy Director ULB, CEO Waqf board, Officers of Floriculture, JKPCC, JKAACL, Police, BSNL and other concerned departments.
The divisional commissioner stressed on the officers to prepare a short term master plan for the infrastructural development at the shrine to enhance the beauty and aesthetic value of the place.
He exhorted for removal of tin sheets at the entrance and concertina wires from the premises of the shrine.
He asked for proper maintenance of parks and restricted the grill size around the parks to minimum to avoid blocking of view.
Meanwhile, Pole asked for reparation of wazu khana and renovation of Sabat where the hair of children is shaved. He also impressed on the architectural design of sabat to present the beautiful sight of the place.
He underlined the immediate requirement of reparation of toilets, completion of pending work and construction of septic tank.
He also directed for construction of shoe racks and a place for lighting of candles at the appropriate place outside the shrine to avert the threat of fire incident.
For distribution of bless food ‘Tahri’, Pole asked concerned for construction of Bless Food Counter at one place besides he directed for installation of CCTV cameras which shall be monitored by police and Waqf officials.
The district administration Budgam was asked to set up stalls at the shrine and make arrangements for crowd management, SRTC Buses besides electricity, drinking water and health facilities.
