Police, ANTF launches Bhung destruction drive

Srinagar: Police in Budgam destroyed wild bhung in Khansahib area. Besides Anti Narcotics Task Force J&K also destroyed wild bhung spread on a vast area of forest land in Kupwara, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police team and officials from Revenue Deptt Khansahib launched a special drive to destroy wild bung in Parnewa Khansahib and its adjacent areas. During the drive, the joint team destroyed bhung cultivation spread on the vast area of land. General public of the area have appreciated the action of Police and have urged to continue such drive in nearby areas also, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, Anti Narcotics Task Force J&K in collaboration with Divisional Forest officer Kamraj Forest Division Zangil Kupwara, Excise & taxation department of Kupwara/Baramulla, Revenue Department with the assistance of local Police carried a major bhung destruction drive at Trimukhan Top, Lolab and adjoining areas bordering Kupwara, Baramulla & Bandipora Districts. During the drive, wild bhung spread over approximately five hectares of forest land was destroyed, the spokesman added.
