Students of GMS Onagam visit district hospital Bandipora

Medical Superintendent leads students to various units of the hospital

Bandipora: A selected group of 20 students accompanied by the school headmaster and the physical education teacher visited district hospital Bandipora to gain firsthand knowledge about how a hospital functions.
The students and the teachers were received by Medical Superintendent Dr Shiekh Mushtaq Ahmed and his team warmly.
Dr Mushtaq personally accompanied students to all the units of the hospital and shared all the details of the units for about two hours, a handout issued by the school said.
Students were informed about the working of all the latest machinery including ventilators and other equipments. The medical and para medical staff members of the hospital received the students with love and affection in every unit and informed them about the functioning of various hospital units.
Students were fascinated to see the operation theatre and the equipment in the theatre, the handout added.
Dr Mushtaq explained the working and the functioning of different equipments, to the students.
On the occasion, Incharge operation theatre Mohammad Amjad Shah displayed some of the equipments used in the theatre during operation procedures. Sanitary Inspector Mohammad Mustafa in the inaugural session shared some valuable information with the students.
Students were taken to ICU, Labour room, Dental section, Laboratory section, Pharmacy, immunization section, emergency department and other sections of the hospital.
Medical superintendent while interacting with the students replied to their queries. He explained the rights and duties of the patients and the attendants. He advised students to work hard to achieve professional degrees and follow the teachings of empathy and self discipline to become good and responsible citizens.
He appreciated Headmaster Javaid Jawad for undertaking such initiatives and asked other institutions to follow the same.
Javaid Jawad expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Medical superintendent (MS) and his team for providing the opportunity to students to visit all the units of the hospital.
