ED destroys illicit Poppy, Bhung across of Kmr

SRINAGAR: The Excise Enforcement teams of all Excise Ranges (Excise Department) have destroyed illicit Poppy cultivation on 645 and Bhung spread over 1813 kanals of land across Kashmir till August 31 of 2022.
The Enforcement teams headed by Excise and Taxation Officers, South, North and Central Excise Ranges besides destroying the illicit Poppy and Bhung crops have also filed 42 FIRs against the culprits.
Along the destruction drives, the department also carried out interactive sessions regarding illicit cultivation of cannabis at Gousia Public school Kakapora, Pulwama; Ravji Memorial Higher Secondary School Ananthnag.
Besides, mass awareness campaign involving PRIs, Municipal Councillors and general public awareness was also conducted in the Kralwari areas of Tehsil Chadoora, Budgam.
The eradication drives and mass awareness campaigns shall continue till all illicit Bhung (cannabis) in Kashmir valley is destroyed
