Terrorist killed, civilian injured in Sopore encounter
Srinagar: A civilian was injured while as a terrorist was killed in an ongoing gunfight at Bomai area of North Kashmir’s Sopore on Wednesday evening.
A police officer said that a civilian identified as Ali Mohammad Ganai son of Abdul Ahad Ganai resident of Bomai received bullet wound in his leg during gunfight at Bomai.
He has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment, his condition is stated to be stable, the officer added.
Earlier one terrorist was killed during initial exchange of fire with security forces.
The encounter started when a joint team of Police, Army’s 22RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Bomai.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
