Chemotherapy facility available at Pulwama hospital: Authorities

Srinagar: Authorities at District Hopsital Pulwama on Friday denied that no such facilities are being provided to patients.
“The hospital has started the Chemotherapy facility on day care basis some months before. District Hospital Pulwma is only District Hospital in J&K which is providing this facility to the patients to mitigate their sufferings,” a spokesman of the hospital said, denying reports in a section of the media which had alleged non-avilability of such facilities.
“This hospital has been providing this facility on twice weekly basis i.e. Monday and Thursday. As per the directions from Director Health Services Kashmir this hospital has a separate Chemotherapy Unit of six beds where Chemotherapy is provided under the supervision of Dr Murtaza Shall and Dr Ishtiyaq Ahmad both Oncologists,” the official said.
“We have provided this facility to many patient whose records are available in this office. Moreover, free Drugs/Investigations are provided to the patients under Ayushman Bharat Scheme as well as NPCDCS. Hence, the allegations leveled against the hospital are baseless,” the official added.
