Police solves theft case in Handwara, three held

Srinagar: Police solved a theft case in north Kashmir’s Handwara by arresting three accused persons involved in commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that on 24/08/2022, Police received information about theft of communication cables in village Hafrada. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 96/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Vilgam and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, after strenuous efforts and based on leads developed during the investigation, three accused involved in the commission of crime were traced by joint parties of Police and Army and were subsequently arrested. They have been identified as Owais Reyaz Lone son of Reyaz Ahmed Lone resident of Redbugh Kupwara, Amir Ahmed Ganie son of Farooq Ahmed Ganie resident of Check Keegam Kupwara and Nayeem Ahmed Bhagat son of Abdul Rashid Baghat resident of Gulgam Kupwara, the spokesman added.
On their disclosure, stolen cables have been recovered from their possession. Besides, vehicle bearing registration number JK09-9702 used in the commission of crime has also been seized, the spokesman added.
