Two drug peddlers held in Handwara: Police
Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Handwara in north Kashmir and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Dahama Vilgam crossing intercepted two persons. During checking, officers were able to recover 800grams of charas like substance from their possession.
The duo has been identified as Mohammad Gulzar Mir son of Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Mir resident of Amargad and Basit Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Gaffer Rather resident of Amargad Sherkote A/P Aloosa Kupwara. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 95/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Vilgam and further investigation has been taken up, he said.
