Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Sopore
Sopore: Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a handout issued here, the police spokesman said a police party of Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir intercepted a suspicious person at a checkpoint established at Gul Abad Arampora.
“The accused on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot, but was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party,” he said.
The accused has been identified as Sona-Ullah-Shalla son of Muhammad Subhan Shalla resident of Gul Abad Arampora Sopore.
“During checking, 300grams of Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody,” he said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 166/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated as well.
