Terrorist killed in Baramulla encounter
Two security personnel injured
Srinagar: An unidentified terrorist was killed and two security personnel were wounded in an encounter in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Saturday, police said.
The security forces had received information about presence of terrorists at Wanigam Bala in Kreeri area of the district, following which a cordon and search operation was launched there, a police official said.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter when terrorists opened firing on the security forces, who too retaliated with gunfire.
During the gunfight one terrorist was killed, officials said adding that the terrorist has been identified as Akhtar Hussain Bhat Alias Abid Bhai son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Trich Kupwara.
He was missing since 16th July this year from his residence, the official said.
