ACS Home reviews implementation of JJM in Jammu District

Asks officers to maintain transparency, accountability

JAMMU: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, R.K Goyal Saturday chaired a meeting to review the progress on implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across Jammu district at DC office here.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar; Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa; SE PHE, Sumit Puri; CPO, Yoginder Katoch besides other senior officers of the concerned departments participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the ACS took detailed analysis of all the ongoing works with pecial focus on tendering of civil-cum-electro mechanic works and procurements of materials. He also assessed the progress on execution of works and finalization of contracts under Jal Jeevan Mission.
The ACS directed the concerned officials to expedite the tendering and evaluation processes and allotment of works should be done within the fixed deadlines. He also impressed upon the officers to maintain highest level of transparency and accountability in implementation process.
The ACS was informed that maximum tenders have been floated and the technical and financial evaluation of borewells, tube wells, overhead tanks and filtration plants is under progress.
He exhorted upon the officers to put in coordinated efforts to achieve the target of providing every rural household with Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) under Phase-II within given timeline.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, gave a powerpoint presentation and informed the ACS that there are 272 projects of JJM under process and more that 1200 crore has been approved under District Action Plan for this purpose. The DC further informed that 736 villages are to be covered under JJM in the district.
