DGP sanctions Rs 3 lakh scholarship for wards of martyred cops

Srinagar: The Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned a scholarship worth Rs 3.13 lakh in favour of 48 wards of martyred police personnel.
The police handout reads that the scholarship has been sanctioned to provide financial assistance to the wards of martyred Police personnel and to support their education from primary to university level.
An amount of Rs 3000 each has been granted in favour of 22 wards of police martyrs who are studying in primary classes.
Also, Rs 7500 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 16 wards who are pursuing middle school education.
The police handout reads that Rs 12500 to 15000 has been granted in favour of 10 wards of police martyrs who are pursuing higher education.
“The scholarship has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Education Fund for the academic session 2021-22 and 2022-23,” the handout reads.
Notably, the police headquarter is running various scholarship schemes which include scholarships for wards of serving, deceased, martyred Police personnel, SPOs for class 10th & 12th.
“Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college, universities and technical courses. Rewards are also given to the wards that crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET and CSIR,” it reads.
