DDC Kupwara chairs preparatory meet to review preparation for upcoming JUC
KUPWARA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir Friday chaired a preparatory meeting of all concerned officers and field functionaries to review the preparations for conduct of Joint Umbrella Camp (JUC) scheduled on July 16.
The JUC will be conducted in 65 identified panchayats of all 24 blocks of the district.
The DDC stressed upon all the participants to ensure greater coordination so that more beneficiaries get registered and 100 percent saturation is achieved.
He directed JD Planning to share proforma with all 65 Umbrella Camp officials so that they can get basic information about saturation of different schemes from the field. He directed them to ask people whether they are covered with different Government schemes like immunization, vaccination of animals and Golden Cards
He also directed Tehsildars to make sure that patwaris attend JUCs.
The DDC said that the ADDC, ADCs and SDMs shall inspect proceedings of JUCs apart from already constituted District and Block level Monitoring Teams.
He stressed upon the participants to ensure utmost coordination with each other at camps so that better results could be yielded from the JUC programme. He asked them to make Whatsapp groups and update all activities of the camp.
The DDC appealed the general public to attend the JUCs in their respective panchayats and avail the opportunity of on spot registration under different centrally sponsored beneficiary oriented schemes which include Old Age pension, Golden Health Card, Minority Scholarship, Aadhaar seeding, KCC, Soil Health Cards, MUDRA Loan, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY and other indicators under Aspirational District Programme.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner directed all the line departments to prepare a well-defined Disaster Management Plan to combat any emergency.
He stressed that district administration should manage any emergency situation in the best possible way.
He said that Disaster Management was a professional work and the District Plan for Disaster management should be a composite one covering all areas and segments of the disasters.
He stressed the need for a well-equipped control room for which he directed ACR Kupwara to further augment the control room already established in the district.
The DC asked concerned Tehsildars to identify land at safe locations for Disaster Management Control Rooms at Kupwara, Handwara and Lolab and send Shajria Khasra within 2 days to his office.
He constituted a three member committee of officers for preparing a list of rescue equipment.
He also directed ADC Kupwara to prepare Disaster Management Plan within 15 days for which the ADC asked concerned officers to submit plan papers in his office by or before July 25.
