DEO Pulwama meets representatives of Political Parties
Pulwama: The District Election Officer (DEO) Pulwama Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary Thursday convened a meeting with representatives of political parties at the mini-secretariat to discuss the rationalization of polling stations.
The DEO asked all political parties to go through the proposed draft of polling stations which was provided to them by the authorities and were asked to record comments for rectification in due course of time.
He said that polling stations are a vital part of the electoral process, and the polling stations will be created keeping in view of the convenience of the voters and must include all essential facilities and added that any new proposal that falls within the norms will be considered and approved.
Political Parties were also asked to appoint Booth Level Agents and to submit the BLA list at an earliest through concerned AEROs.
Among others present during the meeting were Dy-DEO Pulwama, AEROs, Naib Tehsildar and other concerned.
Meanwhile, DEO Pulwama has also invited objections and suggestions regarding draft list of polling stations.
In a notification issued by the administration, the stakeholders have been asked to submit their objections and suggestions by or before July 19.
Notably, the delimitation mapping and rationalization of polling stations has been carried out in respect of 32 Pampore, 33 Tral, 34 Pulwama and 35 Rajpora of district which is also available in the offices of DEO (DC) Mini Secretariat, EROs viz. ACR Pulwama, ADC Tral, ACD Pulwama, all AEROs (Tehsil Offices) and concerned BDO offices of the district.
