DC Bla distributes 80 Motorized scooties among divyangs
BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Dr Syed Shehrish Asgar Wednesday remarked that special measures were being taken to realise the ambition of socio-economic empowerment of specially abled persons.
She said the district administration will explore every possibility to ensure the empowerment of such people.
She said that Divyangs are the part and parcel of our society and every endeavor shall be taken so that they live their lives with dignity and honour.
The DC made these remarks during a distribution camp which was organised by the Department of Social Welfare Baramulla to provide aid and appliances to the physically challenged persons.
The distribution camp was organised as part of the special program which was inaugurated by the J&K Lieutenant Governor (LG) with virtual participation of the functionaries of district administrations.
On the occasion, DC distributed 80 Motorized Scooties among the identified beneficiaries.
She also interacted with them and listened their aspirations during which they demanded that further measures should be taken for their empowerment which includes routine interaction with the concerned authorities for redressing their grievances.
Meanwhile, in a separate function Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir Wednesday provided Motorized Tricycles among 11 specially abled persons of district Kupwara at a function organized at DC Office Kupwara.
Deputy Commissioner interacted with the beneficiaries and advised them to make better use of this facility.
He said government is committed to provide every possible support to the weaker sections of the society including specially abled persons.
