Handicrafts & Handloom Department organises mega awareness camp

ANANTNAG: The Handicrafts & Handloom Department Tuesday organized daylong artisan awareness cum registration camp at Akad Anantnag that was attended by hundreds of Artisans of the adjoining area.
The camp was inaugurated by Director Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir Tariq Ahmad Zargar.
On the occasion, Director Handicrafts and Handloom said that the objective of organizing the camp was to make artisans aware of various welfare programmes and schemes of the department.
He appealed to the artisan fraternity to come forward and get themselves registered with the department so that they can avail the benefits without any difficulty for their overall socio-economic development.
During the event the officers apprised the participants about the schemes available with the department for their welfare besides registration process, Registration Cards, registration and working of Cooperative Society, Artisan Credit Cards and other related schemes.
Among others, the programme was attended by Deputy Director H&H, Publicity & Exhibition Officer, Assistant Director H&H Anantnag, Handicrafts Training Officers besides representatives from various artisan groups.
Later registration cards and Industrial Cooperative society certificates were distributed among the registered artisans and recently registered Cooperative Societies.
Further on spot registration of artisans was also carried out on the occasion. The artisans demanded for organizing more such camps all across the District in future.
