Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme from Aug 9-16, DC Srinagar reviews preparations

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad said on Wednesday that the upcoming ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme is aimed at “invoking patriotism among people.”
He was speaking at a meeting of officers to review the preparations for the programme to be held from August 9-16.
“This programme is aimed at invoking a feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and promoting a sense of respect for the symbols of Independence,” he said.
Named as Har Ghar Tiranga/Har Ghar Jhanda, the programme is being organised under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Asad said.
He asked the officers to make necessary preparations to make the programme successful and directed for setting up of Tiranga Centre for collection and stocking of the National flags for proper distribution among all participating departments/stakeholders. The premises for establishing Tiranga Centre has been identified at Amar Niwas Complex, Tankipora, DC office.
The DC directed the officers to submit department-wise activity plan by June 20, and urged the Rural Development Department to ensure active participation of PRIs in the programme at panchayat levels.
