DHSK holds Refresher Training Workshop for medical staff

Srinagar: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) on Thursday conducted a Refresher Training Workshop for the staff of the health department who shall be deployed for Amarnath Yatra to provide better services to pilgrims at different stations during the period of Yatra.
The training workshop was conducted following the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole.
The workshop was organized by Division of Epidemiology and Public Health under the aegis of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir to augment and improvise health care services being provided to the pilgrims.
On the directions of Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather around 500 health care workers including Consultants, Medical Officers, pharmacists, Medical assistants, Lab Technicians, X-ray technicians, sanitation staff from different health care institutions of Kashmir division were trained on urgent basis by Division of Epidemiology & Public Health.
The programme was presided by Epidemiologist and State Surveillance Officer Kashmir, Dr Talat Jabeen.
During the training programme, the health care professionals and workers were sensitized about biomedical waste management in field settings, Epidemic Containment besides Referral & Evacuation strategy for pilgrims visiting the Shri Amarnath Yatra.
On the occasion, feedback and constructive inputs were shared by the healthcare workers attending the training.
The Community Medicine Specialists from Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, Dr Syed Gazalla Nazki, Dr Rouf Hussain Rather, Dr Umar Nazir and Dr Rabbanie Tariq deliberated on the public health topics of concern as resource persons for the training.
The attendees appreciated the efforts of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir regarding conducting such training workshops.
The Directorate Health Services Kashmir also interacted with the health care professionals attending the training from different institutions and took a serious note of all the feedback from the ground workers.
