Visits Vessu migrant colony, inaugurates training programme

Kulgam: The Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Tuesday visited Vessu migrant colony in Kulgam district to take stock of grievances and demands of inhabitants of the colony.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat.
The residents of the migrant colony put forth their demands including posting of employees to safer zones, DPC related issues, development and other related matters.
Kumar assured the inhabitants that their issues will be redressed in a time bound manner.
Later he also took stock of the developmental scenario of the colony and asked the concerned offices to ensure availability of all requisite facilities.
He also visited Model Higher Secondary School at Kilam and reviewed the functioning of the institute.
During his interaction with students and the staff of the school he stressed upon imparting quality education to the students besides ensuring their overall personality development.
Later, he also inaugurated digitization land records training programme for revenue staff during his visit to the district.
The objective of the training was to educate the revenue staff about the procedure involved in the digitization process to ensure early and error free digitization of land records.
This training programme is being attended by all Tehsildars and Patwaris of the district.
He also chaired a meeting of revenue officers and reviewed the progress and implementation of eviction plan, removal of encroachments from state kahcharai land and Migrant land. He also took a review of updation of revenue records, wakf properties besides other revenue related matters.
During the meeting, ACR Kulgam gave a detailed presentation on the functioning of the Revenue Department across the district.
Commissioner Secretary stressed upon the Tehsildars, Patwaris and other staff involved in digitization of land records to work with added zeal and dedication to complete the digitization process in a time bound manner.
He also complimented the Patwaris and allied staff for their dedication exhibited during the updation process of revenue records.
