Registrar Cooperative Societies organises day long Workshop

Srinagar: A day long Workshop was organized by Cooperative Department at Athwas Gahh, J&K State Cooperative Bank at Rajbagh Srinagar.
The function was presided over by the Registrar Cooperative Societies Shafqat Iqbal.
The Workshop deliberated and discuss various issues and sought suggestions regarding amalgamation of the Jammu & Kashmir Cooperative Societies Act, 1989 and the J&K Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999, which are concurrently inforce in the UT of J&K at present.
Notably, the government in Cooperative Department has already constituted a Committee to assimilate best provisions out of the existing Acts and clear ambiguities and incorporate fruitful provisions in the new Cooperative Act.
During the workshop additional Registrar Cooperatives Kashmir, Syed Qamar Sajjad said that the event was a step forward in the same direction.
Veteran Cooperators, stalwarts from Cooperative fraternity, legal luminaries, experts talked extensively on the subject matter. They put forth some valuable suggestions to be incorporated in the new cooperative Act and also spoke on different proposals as a way forward for accomplishing the amalgamation process.
The Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K emphasized for the need to involve experts on the subject to seek their suggestions to draft people friendly Act to address present and future requirements.
