DC Bla presides over Mega Block Diwas at Pattan

Distt Adm will provide active support for development of Sub-division Pattan: Dr Sehrish

Baramulla: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar on Wednesday visited Government Degree College (GDC) Pattan and chaired a day long Block Diwas Camp.

The initiative was in continuation of the series of special public outreach programmes held across the district in order to take first hand appraisal of the issues of general people at their door steps.

During her Block divas at Pattan DC Baramulla listened to various issues and demands of people meant for the overall welfare and development of the area.

The programme witnessed large participation of people from Pattan, Zangam, Khore besides other adjoining areas of Tehsil Pattan.

Among others, the Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by Joint Director Planning, Mohd Yousuf Rather, Sub Divisional Magistrate Pattan, Syed Faheem, Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla, Yaar Ali, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, G.M. Lone, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services Abdul Khaliq and District Information Officer (DIO) Jahangeer Akhoon.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, various public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before the DC and sought the timely resolution of their grievances and demands.

On the occasion, the people put forth several demands including macadamisation and widening of link and main roads, up gradation of educational institutions, creation of play fields in the area and establishment of power receiving stations at various places.

The people also raised demands for up gradation of community Health Centre to Sub District Hospital, besides establishment of Maternal and Child Health Center in the area.

After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC assured that District Administration will provide active support for development of Sub Division Pattan and also assured them that all their issues and demands shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal.

On the occasion, a facilitation counter was also installed during which several facilities including Ayushman Cards, making of golden and election cards were made available for the general people for the convenience.

Meanwhile, two wheel chairs and two hearing aids were also provided among the beneficiaries under various welfare schemes of the social welfare department.

The DC further said that the administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution.
