Two days training, capacity building programme held

Sopore: A two days training cum Capacity Building programme on forest survey and demarcation for forest front line staff was organized by J&K Forest Department at North Kashmir on Saturday. The programme was jointly conducted by North Forest Circle and Demarcation Division, Kashmir.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle Irfan Rasool Wani, (IFS) who welcomed the participants and expressed about the need of Forest Demarcation and use of modern technology in the forest demarcation. The experts from Demarcation Wing of Forest Department gave presentations on history of forest demarcation, map reading, building of forest records, use of GPS, dispute settlement etc.
The training was attended by 80 participants consisting of Forest front line staff, Divisional Forest Officer’s, Range Forest Officer’s and Forest Protection Force staff.
A Forest Demarcation Hand-Book was also released on the occasion.
