Police arrests three drug peddlers in Anantnag

Srinagar: Police in Anantnag arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that police at a checkpoint established at Uranhall Bijbehara intercepted three persons identified as Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Subhanpora Qaimoh, Mohammad Asif Bhat son of Mohammad Khaleel Bhat and Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, both residents of Batengoo Anantnag.
On checking, five grams of Brown Sugar (chitta) was recovered from their possession. Besides, cash amount of ₹25000/- believed to be the proceeds of narcotic crime and a weighing machine was also recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station against them and further investigation has been initiated, he said.
