BJP all set to return in UP
New Delhi, Mar 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh as it has already crossed the halfway mark in the early rounds of counting. It will be for the first time since 1985 that a ruling party will be returning to power in Uttar Pradesh.
Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party, however, managed to improve its 2017 tally. In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is all set to form a government with a big majority.
It was a big setback for both SAD and Congress as the state outrightly rejected both the parties which have ruled the state for long.
Early trends suggest the AAP is winning over 80 seats in Punjab. In Goa, Manipur, and Uttarakhand, the BJP is ahead of Congress.
