Panch shot dead in south Kashmir’s Kulgam
Srinagar: Militants shot dead a Panch in Kolpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said Wednesday.
They said the gunmen fired upon the Panch identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Dar son of Ghulam, of Sundoo Kulgam this evening. He was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Medical Superintendent of the district hospital Kulgam Dr Muzaffar Zargar confirmed that Dar was brought dead to the hospital. He said that Dar had bulletin injuries in chest and neck.
A police officer said that Dar was brought dead to hospital and further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, a panchayat ghar was also gutted in a mysterious blaze that broke out in Damhal Hanjipora area of Kulgam.
Official sources said that fire broke out in a Panchayat Ghar at Hariweth in Kulgam.
Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot from different parts to douse the flames.
Meanwhile, a police team reached the spot, sources said, adding that the cause of the fire was not known.
