Police distributes face masks

Srinagar: To enhance sense of community and to restrain further spread of Coronavirus, police distributed face masks among the general public in Pulwama and Kulgam, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
Face masks were distributed among the general Public in District Hospital Pulwama, Town Pulwama, Kakapora, Litter, Rajpora, Lassipora and its adjacent areas. They were advised to follow SOPs related to Covid-19 issued by the Government of UT J&K strictly and regularly. Main focus was given to wear face masks and ensure maintenance of social distancing at work places as well as religious places and also people were made aware about the precautionary measures to be taken to contain the spread of the deadly virus, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, on the directions of SSP Kulgam Dr G V Sundeep-IPS, a massive drive was conducted to create awareness among general public of the District regarding pandemic disease Covid-19.
The drive was started from GDC Kulgam and marched through link roads of Kulgam, Main Market Kulgam upto Qazigund in which several officers/officials including DySP Hqrs Kulgam along with SHO PS Kulgam participated.
During drive face masks and sanitizers were distributed among the general public. General public were also advised to get vaccinated and not to pay heed to rumours being circulated by miscreants on social media for not taking this vaccine as it can be harmful. They were also advised to follow SOPs related to Covid-19 issued by the Government of UT J&K strictly and regularly, the spokesman added.
Community members have appreciated and applauded the role of Police in rendering such services to the general public, the spokesman added.
