Police arrests LeT militants
Srinagar: A militant of Lashker-e-Toiba was arrested in central Budgam district on Saturday, police said.
“On a specific input regarding movement of militants in Poshkar area of Budgam, Police alongwith 62 and 2RR and 79 battalion CRPF launched a joint cordon and search operation in the area,” a police spokesperson said, “During the search operation the joint team arrested an active (militant) linked with LeT.”
He has been identified as Abdul Hameed Nath of Pethzanigam Beerwah, Budgam.
“Incriminating materials including a pistol and one magazine, five pistol rounds and one Chinese grenade were recovered from his possession,” police said, adding, “As per police records, he was active since February 2021.”
A case under relevant sections of law stands registered against him in Police Station and investigation has been initiated, he added.
